Tatkal Ticket Rules 2025 – New Aadhaar OTP & Agent Booking Restrictions Explained |
🔐 Aadhaar Now Mandatory for Tatkal Booking
From July 1, 2025, Aadhaar verification is compulsory for all users booking Tatkal tickets online. Passengers must be added from the Aadhaar-linked master list in your IRCTC profile. Without Aadhaar linkage and OTP verification, your booking will not be allowed.
📲 OTP Required for Every Booking
Starting July 15, 2025, IRCTC will use Aadhaar-based OTP verification for every Tatkal ticket. Whether you book online, at a railway counter, or through an agent, the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number must be entered to confirm the booking.
🚫 Agents Restricted During Peak Booking Hours
To give fair chances to regular passengers, IRCTC has blocked agents from booking Tatkal tickets during the first 30 minutes:
- 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM for AC Classes
- 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM for Non-AC Classes
This change prevents bulk booking by agents during high-demand times.
